Cinema One Originals films to be shown at NexCon Manila

NexCon Manila has partnered with Filipino cable channel Cinema One as part of its efforts to champion local genre content. The films “My Paranormal Romance” and “Di Ingon ‘Nato” will be shown at the event.

“My Paranormal Romance” is a Cebuano romantic comedy about a girl who gains a third eye–of the unusual kind–and her quest to remove it. Along the way hilarity ensues, and she finds romance along the way. The film stars Phoebe Kaye Fernandez, Publio Briones III, Paul Jake Castillo, and Van Roxas; and directed by Victor Villanueva for Cinema One Originals 2011.

“Di Ingon ‘Nato” is a thriller dealing with the effects of a zombie outbreak, and how superstitious rural folk deal with it. The film was directed by Ivan Zaldarriaga and Brandon Relucio, and stars Rez Cortez, Mercedes Cabral, Franco Reyes, Donna Gimeno, and Jefrey Ogario.

“My Paranormal Romance” will be shown on May 31 at 130pm (Conference Room area) and “Di Ingon ‘Nato” will be shown on June 1 at 3pm (Conference Room area). Open to all Gold and Silver NexCon ticketholders.
